Portraits

Star InactiveStar InactiveStar InactiveStar InactiveStar Inactive

We can do head-shots, senior portraits, and group portraits. We will shoot between 2-4 different looks, as you may be able to use each of these for different purposes. I will generally shoot each look until we both agree that we have it covered. My sessions generally range from 1-2 hours and I will shoot approximately 250 shots. There is no limit though. If we are having a great time, and we will, I may end up shooting 400 shots over 3 hours. I will shoot horizontal and vertical shots on a background color you can choose from. As we are shooting, we will continually review a set of images together so you will get a feel for where and how the session is going. By working together this way we can make adjustments as we go along and by the end of the session, you will know exactly what you will be getting from me. I'm a big believer in the simpler...the better. The cleaner and simpler your head-shot is the more the viewer, whoever that may be, will focus on you.

As a photographer, my goal is to capture your authenticity, personality, approach-ability, confidence, sense of humor and trustworthiness. I want people to feel comfortable calling you about your business. I want a casting director to see that sly, hint of a smile and call you in. I want someone to recognize you at a party because they saw your head-shot on LinkedIn. I want to make it easier for a recruiter to set up a meeting because they saw something that sparked their interest in you because of your head-shot. In the professional world, your clients want to know who you are. They want to put a face to a name and know that they can trust you. If you are an actor, model or talent of any kind, a casting director, agency or agent wants to see your personality, a certain vibe or individuality come through in your head-shot. Honestly, in today's world of personal branding, whatever your profession or talent, a great head-shot can truly make a powerful statement.

Whether you are a professional, executive, actor or actress or someone who merely wants to update their image on social media, if you are serious about the way others perceive you, professional head-shots are imperative.

GENERAL GUIDELINES

Get plenty of sleep in the days before your head-shot session and stay hydrated. Don’t go out drinking the night before. Don’t do anything crazy with your hair the week before the session. Remember you should look like you normally do on your very best day!

CLOTHING

I ask that you bring a bunch of different looks (7-12) but understand that you mostly need to bring shirts and blouses. Guys can bring less but always bring your favorites! The happier you are with your clothing selections, the happier you will be with the final product. Be yourself! Don’t be afraid to mix it up with different cuts, colors, layers and textures. Bring a wide variety of colors and don’t be seasonal. I would avoid bulky, baggy or puffy clothing or anything that is overly embroidered. Bring very little jewelry. Please wear appropriate brassieres and avoid brightly colored bras. Any shot where your bra strap or an outline is showing is a no-no. Also, men & women, please make sure that your eyebrows have been well groomed before our shoot.

Your head-shot should reflect your personality and I want clothing that will jive with who you are as well as project confidence and approach-ability.

MAKEUP

WOMEN

Women must wear makeup and if you would like me to provide a makeup artist for the session I can do that for you for an additional cost. If you are going to do your own, I would suggest you start off light and very naturally to give yourself a clean look and then we can add on as the session progresses. You are responsible for your hair. The only thing I ask is that your hair is ready when you walk in the door. Your hair in your head-shot should match the way you will look in person or at a business presentation. We may put your hair up or down during the session for a different look so bring whatever styling tools you may need.

MEN

It is not required but I can also provide a makeup artist for men as well for an additional charge. Haircuts are important, however, and I recommend getting one a few days before our session (not the morning of). If you normally wear a couple of days growth on your face…leave it. Bring a razor with you and we can always shoot some at the end of the session clean-shaven.

SENIOR

Often times, senior portraits are handed out to grandparents, family members and to fellow classmates. For that reason, these senior portrait packages are more "print heavy" and "print specific" than others. Note that the advanced packages include hair and makeup, which you can omit should you desire.

Packages reflect the cost of up to two locations and driving time is included in the 2 hours of coverage. We advise adding an additional location fee of at least $50 per location change beyond the first two.
